Hi, . You likely have heard that our previous Library Manager, Benjamin Anderson, had to return to Iowa at the end of March, due to family issues.
However, he remains on the ToLS team as a library consultant. We are so grateful for his willingness to do this! In the 6 months he led the Seeker's Library, we learned so much from him about improving promotion, and potential uses for the Seeker's Library!
Today, the ToLS Team is thrilled to introduce you to our new Library Manager, Sam Abbott! This first week of May, Sam will become oriented to the Seeker's Library. Here is a personal hello-note from Sam. (They prefer the they/them pronouns).
"Hi all – my
name is Sam Abbott, and I'm so excited to join ToLS as the new Library Manager!
After visiting (and later eloping here) in Washington, we found that it felt like 'home' more than any other states we'd been to. Because of this, we started searching for jobs in the state. Upon accepting this job, my spouse and I relocated here from Iowa. We recently made the move with our dog and two cats, and are quickly adjusting to such a big
change.
I have always been a believer in intellectual and spiritual exploration - a passion that led me to center my career around making information accessible to others. Because of this, I found myself drawn to this job - even more so after learning more about ToLS's mission and vision.
I look forward to meeting everyone! Please feel free to introduce yourself if you
are in the Seeker's Library, and as a new Bellingham (and Washington) resident, I would certainly welcome any recommendations. I'm excited for this journey with everyone!"
