Are you one of the tarot lovers on our email list? Maybe you’ve taken one of my tarot classes in the past. You might have checked out one of the tarot decks from our library. Or possibly you had a tarot reading with me.

Lately, I’ve had several people in the ToLS community email me questions about the tarot...and how I learned it. Some asked why I haven’t offered anything lately around the tarot. It dawned on me this morning that it might be helpful to you if I shared in this ezine some of those questions and how I answered them. So here you go…

Why haven’t you shared any more of those quarterly tarot card articles you used to write each season?
It just got down to my available time and other ToLS project priorities. Something had to be put on the back burner. More urgent needs were calling, like upgrading the website, fundraising and prepping my book for website access. Currently, I am wearing lots of hats! Soon those articles will appear in our website blog.

Do you still offer tarot readings during the pandemic?
Yes, using Zoom or over the phone. You can make an appointment using my online scheduler here. Once Whatcom County moves into Phase 2 of service, I will do readings in person with both of us wearing masks.

When will your tarot classes be offered again?
Right now, all in-person classes are paused. I am developing as many virtual gatherings and classes as possible around several topics. We are also working with our ToLS Team Coaches to create offerings. Everything we have at this time is set up in Eventbrite. You can access them all here. While you are on the site, you may want to follow us on Eventbrite so you’ll get an email notice when we have a new one ready.

I know you primarily as an amazing tarot reader, and I love your approach in them! But I’ve never understood why you teach about the Tree of Life. What does it have to do with the tarot?
Thank you for the positive acknowledgement on my readings! I teach Hermetic Qabalah, aka the Tree of Life, because it is a map for raising consciousness, AND it is the foundation of tarot. Each of the 78 cards sit on the Tree of Life. All of my 45+ years of Tree of Life study and practices have helped me understand the tarot at a very deep level.

The Tree of Life Sanctuary's HQSS group has been meeting since 2016. Because of the pandemic, this group has decided to switch ~ from holding in-person discussions about the Tree of Life ~ to reading and discussing books about Hermetic Qabalah using Zoom.

Up to now, the pre-requisite for joining this group has been attendance at the Founder's Intro to Hermetic Qabalah class. HOWEVER, if you join us now for this first book study offering, this pre-requisite is waived. This is because the book that we will be studying is a wonderful introduction to Hermetic Qabalah!

The book we will read and discuss is "Pathworking: A Qabala Guide to Empowerment and Initiation" by Ted Andrews.

You are likely very curious, aren't you? Yet, you aren't sure because you have questions. Of course! This is why we are holding two complimentary info sessions to answer them for you. Laura Abernathy, the Founder and Teacher of the Tree of Life Sanctuary, along with current HQSS group members, will be available in two one-hour info sessions. At the end of them, if you want to become part of this unique study group, you'll learn how you can join.

There are ONLY TWO complimentary info sessions being offered before the start date of this book study. Register here in Eventbrite for the info session date that works for you.

REGISTRATION ENDS, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3rd!

The book study group begins on Saturday, June 27th, from 1 to 3 pm PT. It will continue once per month through completion of the book. Your donation can be paid monthly. If you decide midstream that the book is not your thing, you can leave the group.

HQSS Group is led by Laura Abernathy, CPC, ELI-MP. She is the founder of the Tree of Life Sanctuary, a school of the soul, a certified Life Coach, tarot reader and has studied Hermetic Qabalah for over 45 years.
